I ...First you are not the world's worse mother. I already hold that title as all 5 of my children have rotten teeth. It's genetics. I keep telling the dentists that but they blame things such as breastfeeding on my children's cavities. Sigh. And lack of flossing. how many of you out there actually floss your teeth, let alone your children's? (don't answer if you do...). And secondly, my children love Les Mis. Definitely teaches them about the French Revolution. Two of them actually read the unabridged version of the book by Victor Hugo after memorizing the musical version. My DD was 11 at the time. She still remembers things she learned from that. Great stuff.Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07120805712135364585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6411124129075353401.post-11156378899142335932011-03-23T17:46:28.104-07:002011-03-23T17:46:28.104-07:00Let him jump out of the bath tub. I always feel like the world's worst mom because trying to brush the teeth of a child with autism is like trying to brush a polar bear's mouth while he is chasing his dinner! You don't want to mess with either:) We try. I found a pediatric dentist that both the boys like, but isn't on our insurance so of course it costs us more. At least they haven't bit him and will open their mouths without screaming. He also has a very open office so there is no bad stuff happening in there!!
I wish you luck with this dentist venture:) Life is always full of new experiences with kids!
If you get a chance, check our blog out sometime. We homeschool also:)
www.krazykuehnerdays.com
RenitaMommyKuehnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00896519061550935432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6411124129075353401.post-12247168523871227032011-03-21T22:57:10.907-07:002011-03-21T22:57:10.907-07:00Hey. its really fantastic. I wasn't allowed to SPEAK at all. Which, btw, can be difficult when you notice the clumsy dentist accidentally and unknowingly knocks out your kid's front tooth. And while she is choking and gagging on it (despite the sedation), the dentist yells at her to be quiet because "how will we know if something is really wrong if she won't stop crying."

She swallowed it. (Although if you ask the dentist, he's probably still staying it wasn't there when we came into the office.)

Uh huh.

I floss and brush my children's teeth every day myself now and will continue to until they leave home and get married and have a spouse that can do it for them.Pamelanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6411124129075353401.post-13624840233322992452011-03-21T11:38:08.366-07:002011-03-21T11:38:08.366-07:00I know how you FEEL, but I am the worst mother in ...I know how you FEEL, but I am the worst mother in the world.
